Martin Anthony Sheen (born August 3, 1940) is an American Emmy- and Golden Globe Award-winning U.S. actor. He earned recognition for his performances as Captain Willard in the film, Apocalypse Now, and Capt. Oliver "Charlie" Queenan in the film, The Departed. Sheen also won critical acclaim for his role as President Josiah Bartlet on the long-running television drama series, The West Wing.
